Sweet, creamy, and peppery, this Honey Pepper Chicken Mac and Cheese is a comforting dinner that brings together cheesy pasta and sticky glazed chicken for a bold family favorite.
Ingredients
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
Salt and pepper
1/2 cup honey
2 tbsp black pepper
1 tbsp soy sauce
1 tbsp apple cider vinegar
2 tbsp olive oil
1 lb elbow macaroni
2 tbsp butter
2 tbsp flour
2 cups milk
2 cups shredded cheddar
1/2 cup mozzarella
1/4 cup Parmesan
Fresh parsley
Instructions
1. Cook macaroni and set aside.
2. Season chicken with salt and pepper.
3. Cook chicken in olive oil until browned and cooked through.
4. In a bowl, whisk honey, pepper, soy sauce, and vinegar.
5. Pour sauce into pan, simmer, then coat chicken.
6. In saucepan, make roux with butter and flour.
7. Slowly whisk in milk, then melt in cheeses.
8. Stir in cooked macaroni.
9. Plate mac and cheese and top with honey pepper chicken.
10. Garnish and serve.
Notes
Use rotisserie chicken as a shortcut.
Add bacon or breadcrumbs for texture.
Store in fridge up to 3 days.
