Description
Baked Chicken Thighs in Honey Soy Sauce are simple, nourishing, and bursting with flavor, featuring a perfect balance of sweet and salty in a sticky glaze that caramelizes beautifully in the oven.
Ingredients
2 lbs Chicken Thighs bone-in, skin-o
1/3 cup Raw Honey
1/4 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
3 cloves Fresh Garlic minced
1 tablespoon Fresh Ginger grated
1 tablespoon Toasted Sesame Oil
1 tablespoon Rice Vinegar
1/2 teaspoon Black Pepper freshly cracked
2 stalks Green Onions sliced
Instructions
- Prepare the Marinade: In a medium-sized mixing bowl, whisk together the honey, low-sodium soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, toasted sesame oil, rice vinegar, and black pepper until smooth
- Marinate the Chicken: Place chicken thighs in a large zip-top bag or shallow dish and pour the marinade over, ensuring every piece is well-coated. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes or up to 6 hours
- Preheat and Prep: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) and lightly grease a large baking dish
- Arrange the Chicken: Place the marinated chicken in the prepared baking dish, skin-side up, and reserve the marinade
- Bake: Bake in the oven for 35 to 45 minutes, brushing with leftover marinade halfway through
- Broil for Crispiness: Broil on high for the last 2 to 3 minutes if the skin isn't crispy enough, watching closely to prevent burning
- Rest and Garnish: Let the chicken rest for 5 to 10 minutes before garnishing with sliced green onions and sesame seeds
Notes
Use a meat thermometer to ensure chicken reaches an internal temperature of 165°F (74°C).
Pat chicken skin dry before adding marinade for crispiness.
