Description

This Creamy Kielbasa Broccoli Skillet is a one-pan meal that combines smoky sausage with tender broccoli florets in a rich, creamy sauce. It's quick to prepare, taking only about 20 minutes, and is perfect for busy families.

Ingredients

Scale

14 oz Kielbasa Sausage
4 cups Fresh Broccoli Florets
1 cup Heavy Cream
1.5 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
3 cloves Garlic
1/4 cup Chicken Broth
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Onion Powder
Salt and Pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced kielbasa in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until the edges are crispy and browned. Remove the sausage from the pan and set it aside
  2. In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be cautious not to burn the garlic
  3. Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, using a wooden spoon to scrape up the flavorful brown bits from the bottom. Add the broccoli florets and cover the pan with a lid. Let the broccoli steam for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp
  4. Remove the lid and pour in the heavy cream and onion powder. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth
  5. Add the browned kielbasa back into the skillet and toss gently to coat everything in the cheese sauce
  6. Taste the sauce and add salt and freshly cracked black pepper as needed. Serve immediately

Notes

To ensure a silky sauce, maintain medium heat when adding dairy.

You can substitute turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.

For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk and nutritional yeast.
