Description
This Creamy Kielbasa Broccoli Skillet is a one-pan meal that combines smoky sausage with tender broccoli florets in a rich, creamy sauce. It's quick to prepare, taking only about 20 minutes, and is perfect for busy families.
Ingredients
14 oz Kielbasa Sausage
4 cups Fresh Broccoli Florets
1 cup Heavy Cream
1.5 cups Sharp Cheddar Cheese
3 cloves Garlic
1/4 cup Chicken Broth
1 tbsp Olive Oil
1 tsp Onion Powder
Salt and Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the sliced kielbasa in a single layer. Cook for 3-4 minutes per side until the edges are crispy and browned. Remove the sausage from the pan and set it aside
- In the same skillet, lower the heat to medium. Add the minced garlic and cook for about 1 minute until fragrant. Be cautious not to burn the garlic
- Pour the chicken broth into the skillet, using a wooden spoon to scrape up the flavorful brown bits from the bottom. Add the broccoli florets and cover the pan with a lid. Let the broccoli steam for 3-5 minutes until tender-crisp
- Remove the lid and pour in the heavy cream and onion powder. Bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. Gradually whisk in the shredded cheddar cheese until melted and smooth
- Add the browned kielbasa back into the skillet and toss gently to coat everything in the cheese sauce
- Taste the sauce and add salt and freshly cracked black pepper as needed. Serve immediately
Notes
To ensure a silky sauce, maintain medium heat when adding dairy.
You can substitute turkey or chicken sausage for a leaner option.
For a dairy-free version, use coconut milk and nutritional yeast.
