Ingredients
4 to 6 cups Sliced Peaches (fresh, frozen, or canned)
1 box (approx. 15 oz) Yellow Cake Mix or Flour Blend
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Lightly grease the inside of your crockpot with butter or a non-stick cooking spray
- Place your sliced peaches at the bottom of the slow cooker and sprinkle the vanilla extract, cinnamon, and nutmeg over the fruit
- Spread the dry cake mix or flour mixture evenly over the top of the peaches without stirring
- Cut the cold butter into thin slices and distribute them uniformly across the surface of the dry mixture
- Place the lid on the slow cooker and cook on high for 2 to 3 hours or on low for 4 hours
Notes
For the best texture, use a kitchen towel under the lid during the last 30 minutes of cooking to absorb excess moisture.
If using fresh peaches, consider blanching them for easier peeling.
This dessert can benefit from a side of Greek yogurt for a balanced experience.
