8 ounces Cremini Mushrooms (sliced)
2 cups Beef Broth (Low Sodium)
2 tablespoons All-Purpose Flour


Instructions

  1. Prepare the Panade: In a large mixing bowl, combine the breadcrumbs and milk. Let this sit for five minutes until a paste forms
  2. Mix the Meat: Add the ground beef, Worcestershire sauce, onion powder, garlic powder, salt, and pepper to the panade. Mix gently until just combined
  3. Shape the Patties: Divide the mixture into 4 to 6 oval-shaped patties with a thumb indentation in the center
  4. Sear the Beef: Heat a heavy skillet over medium-high heat with a tablespoon of oil. Sear patties for 3-4 minutes per side until dark brown crust forms
  5. Sauté the Mushrooms: In the same skillet, add the sliced mushrooms and cook until golden brow
  6. Create the Roux: Sprinkle the flour over the mushrooms and stir for one minute. Gradually whisk in the beef broth
  7. Simmer to Finish: Place the patties back into the gravy, reduce heat to low, and simmer for 10-12 minutes
