Description

6 to 8 Large Fresh Georgia Peaches (peeled and sliced)
3/4 cup Granulated Cane Sugar
1 tablespoon Fresh Lemon Juice
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1/2 cup Unsalted Butter
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1 cup Whole Milk
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract


Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C). Place the unsalted butter in a 9×13 inch baking dish to melt
  2. In a large saucepan, combine sliced peaches, sugar, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat for about 5 to 7 minutes until the sugar dissolves
  3. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, remaining sugar, and baking powder. Gradually stir in milk and vanilla extract until just combined
  4. Remove the hot baking dish with melted butter from the oven. Pour the batter directly over the melted butter. Do not stir
  5. Spoon the cooked peach mixture over the batter without stirring. The cobbler will rise during baking
  6. Bake for 40 to 45 minutes until the crust is golden brown and the peach juices bubble around the edges
  7. Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving

Notes

Using fresh Georgia peaches is key for the best flavor. If using frozen peaches, thaw and drain excess water.
