Description

Herb Butter Roasted Turkey features a perfectly golden, crispy skin that protects the most succulent and tender meat. Infused with fresh rosemary, sage, and thyme in creamy butter, this recipe is simple and nourishing, making it the centerpiece for any gathering.

1214 lbs Whole Turkey
1 cup Unsalted Butter
2 tbsp Fresh Rosemary
2 tbsp Fresh Sage
2 tbsp Fresh Thyme
46 cloves Garlic Cloves
2 tbsp Kosher Salt
1 tbsp Black Pepper
1 large Lemo
1 medium Onio


Instructions

  1. Remove the turkey from the refrigerator at least 45 minutes before cooking and pat it dry with paper towels
  2. In a medium bowl, combine the softened butter, minced rosemary, sage, thyme, garlic, salt, and pepper. Mash together until evenly distributed
  3. Season the inside of the turkey cavity with salt and pepper, and stuff with halved lemon and quartered onio
  4. Loosen the skin over the breast meat and slide half of the herb butter mixture under the skin, then rub the remaining butter on the outside
  5. Tie the legs with kitchen twine and place the turkey on a rack in a large roasting pa
  6. Preheat the oven to 325°F (165°C). Roast the turkey until a meat thermometer reads 165°F
  7. Baste every 45 minutes with pan juices
  8. Remove from the oven and let the turkey rest for 30 to 45 minutes before carving

Notes

Use a meat thermometer to ensure proper cooking.

Do not skip drying the turkey skin for crispy results.

Let the butter soften at room temperature, do not melt in the microwave.
