Description

This Homemade Brown Sugar Chicken Marinade transforms ordinary chicken into a juicy, caramelized masterpiece, balancing sweet and savory notes with a rich glaze.


Ingredients

1.52 lbs Chicken Breasts or Thighs
1/2 cup Dark Brown Sugar
1/3 cup Low-Sodium Soy Sauce
1/4 cup Olive Oil
2 tbsp Apple Cider Vinegar
3 cloves Fresh Garlic, minced
1 tsp Ground Ginger
1/2 tsp Black Pepper


Instructions

  1. In a medium-sized bowl or large resealable bag, combine brown sugar, soy sauce, olive oil, and apple cider vinegar. Whisk until the sugar dissolves
  2. Add minced garlic, ground ginger, and black pepper to the mixture. Stir well
  3. Add chicken to the marinade, ensuring it is evenly coated. If using a bag, squeeze out excess air before sealing
  4. Refrigerate to marinate for at least 30 minutes, ideally 4 to 6 hours, but not exceeding 24 hours
  5. When ready to cook, preheat your grill to medium-high heat or oven to 400°F
  6. Remove chicken from the marinade and discard excess liquid. Grill or bake until the internal temperature reaches 165°F, approximately 6-8 minutes per side or 20-25 minutes in the ove
  7. Let the chicken rest for 5 minutes before serving

Notes

Chicken can be frozen in the marinade for up to 3 months, allowing it to marinate as it thaws.
