Ingredients
6–8 large Peaches (peeled and sliced)
3/4 cup Granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Lemon Juice
1 cup All-Purpose Flour
1 cup Granulated Sugar
1 tablespoon Baking Powder
1/4 teaspoon Salt
1 stick (1/2 cup) Unsalted Butter
1 cup Whole Milk (room temperature)
1 teaspoon Ground Cinnamo
1/4 teaspoon Ground Nutmeg
1 teaspoon Pure Vanilla Extract
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and melt the butter in a baking dish
- Combine the sliced peaches, sugar, and lemon juice in a saucepan and cook over medium heat
- Whisk together the flour, remaining sugar, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg; add milk and vanilla
- Pour the batter over the melted butter without stirring, then add the peaches on top without stirring
- Bake for 40 to 45 minutes or until golden brown and bubbling
- Allow to cool for at least 15 minutes before serving
Notes
Using fresh, ripe peaches will enhance the flavor.
Do not stir the batter and peach layers for the best texture.
