Crispy Blackstone Flatbread Pizza is a quick and customizable meal that combines fresh ingredients with the searing power of an outdoor griddle, resulting in a crunchy crust and melting cheese.
Ingredients
4 Large Pieces Rectangular Flatbreads
1 cup San Marzano Tomato Sauce
8 ounces Fresh Mozzarella
1/2 cup Cooked Chicken or Turkey Pepperoni
1.5 cups Bell Peppers, Onions, Spinach (thinly sliced)
2 tablespoons Extra Virgin Olive Oil
1/4 cup Fresh Basil and Oregano
Instructions
- Preheat the Blackstone to medium-low heat
- Brush a light coating of extra virgin olive oil on both sides of the flatbreads
- Place flatbreads directly onto the hot griddle for about 60 seconds, then flip
- Spread a thin layer of tomato sauce on the toasted side, followed by shredded mozzarella, vegetables, and proteins
- Return the topped flatbreads to the griddle, covering if possible to melt the cheese
- Monitor the crust, looking for a deep golden brow
- Remove from heat, sprinkle with fresh basil, and let rest before slicing
Notes
Using a melting dome can help achieve gooey cheese. Let the pizza rest for a couple of minutes before slicing.
